Skill-based instruction with the teacher at the table

10-20 minutes per group

ž Re-teaches or pre-teaches skills/standards ž Uses the enVision 2.0 Intervention Lesson or enVision 2.0 Math Diagnosis and Intervention (MDIS) Kit. The following would be seen during instruction: ž Manipulatives ž Teacher think a-loud ž Specific feedback ž Application of skills to problem solving ž Checks for Understanding ž Routines and expectations are taught ž Monitors student behavior ž Prepare math centers which may include any of the following: o enVision ON-level and Advanced Activity Centers o Independent practice: enVision Wkbk or Practice Buddy o Review Center o Digitial center: iReady, Reflex, Dreambox, ST Math, or enVision Game Center o Rich Task: enVIsion 2.0, Illustrative or Inside Math ž Teacher wraps up the Math Block with Learning Intention and Success Criteria used throughout the lesson

Students engage in the lesson as they: ž Use manipulatives ž Apply math vocabulary ž Discuss and share their thinking ž Solve problems

Students not with the teacher

Up to 25 minutes

ž Follows routines and expectations of skill- based time ž Quickly logs on computer ž Engaged with peers using math academic language ž Be persistent in problem solving

Wrap-Up

3-5 minutes

ž Students self-assess their success of the

skill/standard based on the success criteria
