Debrief

Return to Home Base and ask the following: ● How did we help each other out during this game? ● What did you like about this game? Castle Ball

Show How How to Play:

● Split students into two teams, each beginning on the endline of the boundary of the game. ● Students will build “castles” out of their hula hoops (one hula hoop on the ground with 4 hula hoops criss-crossing, with one more on top). ● Have each team start with half of the gator balls available. ● On your “Go Word”, students will roll the balls towards the other teams “castles”, trying to knock them down. ● Students cannot cross the half–court line–they must stay on their team's side. ● Students are allowed to defend their castles by blocking the ball with any body parts. ● Once all the castles are knocked down on a team's side, the game restarts.

Practice and Play

Review how to safely roll a ball on the ground. ● Students cannot overhand throw the ball.

Demonstrate how to build their castles.

Modification: ● Students can “repair” their castle to keep the game going, but once all are down, the game resets.
