Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● Prepare students with daily expectations before entering the gym OR on Home Base. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

High Five Freeze Tag

Show How How to Play:

● Inside the tag boundaries, like “Freeze Tag”, there will be 2-3 taggers who are trying to tag every student. ● When tagged, students must freeze like a statue, with their hand raised high, waiting for a “high five”. ● Unfrozen students are able to unfreeze students by giving them a “high five”. ● After a few minutes, rotate taggers so lots of students get chances to be taggers.

Practice and Play

Review how to tag safely: ● Butterfly fingers ● Tagging on USA ● Moving safely around the play space.

Remind students who are waiting in line to cheer for players.
