Systematic Data Review

Establishing a system for regular data review helps in better understanding students' learning abilities and challenges and facilitates an ongoing process for using relevant data to ensure successful outcomes for students. A critical component for regular data review is calendaring when specific data are available for review in order to inform any instructional adjustments or interventions that need to occur. Prior to school beginning, teachers should review available data for their incoming students to identify which students may need additional support. This may include students with diverse learning needs (ML, SWD, Gifted), low reading or math scores, or a history of attendance or behavior challenges. Consider the different types of assessment data and create a plan for when those assessment data will be reviewed and by whom.

Calendar and set aside time in team meetings to discuss the different types of data when they become available Review and problem solve around relevant student data to provide a more comprehensive view of students’ skills and establish goals Critical Actions for Educators
