With a given set of data, students will create a line plot
Ask students to select objects from their desk that they think are less than one inch and then, without measuring, organize the objects into groups of ¼, ½, ¾ inch. They should have at least 10 objects.

Then ask the students to measure the objects to the nearest 1/8 inch, and record their measurements on a line plot as shown below.
Which length had the greatest, fewest number of objects? Ask students to compare their own line plot with other students and record their comparisons. (DOK 2)
