Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● You’ll be teaching outside for this activity (unless you have poles in your gym). Adjust your warm up routine and Home Base accordingly. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

Arena/Flag Tag

Show How How to Play:

● Inside the boundaries, spread students out, each with their own set of flags around their waist. ● Everyone is trying to avoid getting their flags pulled and pulling others flags. ● Once a flag is pulled, students must drop it on the ground and leave it until the round is over. ● If a student loses both flags, they must sit down OR go outside of the boundary. ● Students can help pull flags when sitting or standing on the perimeter of the game. The round is over once there is only one student left with one or two flags.

Practice Review how to safely pull a flag off of someone.
