Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● Prepare students with daily expectations before entering the gym OR on Home Base. ● Warm up procedure may include several laps around the gym, stretching routine, or another quick, movement based activity. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

The game that you chose today will take up the entire class period.

Gaga Ball (Outdoor)

Show How How to Play:

● Define the boundaries of the game with the Gaga Ball walls and where students will rotate in from. ● To begin, five students will start inside the walls while other students wait in line. You will toss the gator ball into the air, having it bounce in the middle of the court. ● With each bounce, everyone will say “Ga-Ga Ball!”, which signals they can move into the boundaries and move freely during play. ● Using their paddle hands, students will attempt to hit the ball towards others legs. ● If hit by the ball (knees down), students will leave the game by giving a high five to the next student waiting in line. That student will join the game.
