Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● You’ll be teaching outside for this activity (unless you have poles in your gym). Adjust your warm up routine and Home Base accordingly. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

Tetherball

Show How How to Play:

● Two students will start within the tetherball circle, one on each side of the line. ● The newcomer will serve the ball by hitting it with an open or closed hand. The other student can choose the direction they will hit the ball. ● The student who winds the rope completely around the pole in their direction wins. ● The next student in line waiting to play will be the “judge”, watching for the following errors: ○ Hitting/grabbing the rope ○ Stepping onto the other side
