swab the deck!” ○ Pirates: Students freeze, doing their best impression of a pirate (hook for a hand, close an eye like an eye patch) and yell “Yarrrr!” ○ Lighthouse: Students will pair up, give each other a high-five and hold their hands together, spinning around in a circle, “beeping” like a lighthouse. ○ Sailor Overboard: In a group of three, two students will join hands around the third, acting like a small boat, while the student in the middle looks “overboard” and yells “Hello?!” ○ Row to Shore: In a group of four, students will line up as in a canoe and row around the “ship”, singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” ○ Lunch Time: In a group of five, students will pretend to sit around a table and shovel food into their mouth with both hands. ● If students aren’t able to get into the proper size group, they may “practice swimming” around the groups, pretending to do the freestyle. Play a quick round going through each of the commands–this is mainly to get them into groups for the main poster activity. End in groups of 4-5 students (Row to Shore or Lunch Time) for the next activity (based on the amount of posters).

Show How How to Play:
● In their small groups, have students share what physical activities they like to participate in at school. Ask for a few groups to share their answers with the whole class. ● Next, ask them to discuss what physical activities they like to participate in outside of school. Share a few examples of your own to help get them started. ○ Walking the dog, riding a bike, playing catch. ● Pass out a poster and set of markers to each group. They can spread out across the gym floor. ● Give them time to write or draw their favorite activities on their poster. ● Once completed, tape up their posters so they can see each group.
Practice andPlay
Review the activities and ask why students like them. ● Highlight activities that include other friends or family members ● Point out that some activities might be less rigorous than others ○ Not all physical activities have to be extreme!
