Catch and Pass Volleyball

Skill Levels: The different ways to perform a task. While I’m really good at soccer, my skill level in volleyball could improve.

Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● Prepare students with daily expectations before entering the gym OR on Home Base. ● Warm up procedure may include several laps around the gym, stretching routine, or another quick, movement based activity. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

Catch and Pass Volleyball

Show How How to Play:

● This game is designed to help teach the strategy and flow of volleyball. ● Split students into two teams, one on each side of the court, which is divided by a net in the middle. ● On each side, there should be 6 students, evenly spread out with three along the net, and three students along the back row. ● The game begins with the player in the back right corner throwing the ball over the net to the other team.
