Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● Prepare students with daily expectations before entering the gym OR on Home Base. ● Warm up procedure may include several laps around the gym, stretching routine, or another quick, movement based activity. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

Around the World

Show How How to Play:

● At each basketball hoop, two groups of students will start on the end line, one team on each side of the hoop. ● Seven cones spread out evenly along the perimeter of the basketball key mark the spots students can shoot from. ● The first student on each team will shoot from the cone closest to their team. ● If the student makes it, they move onto the next cone along the perimeter and continue to do so until they miss their shot. ● The next player will shoot, following the same pattern of making the shot=continuing on while missing the shot=next student’s turn. ● Once everyone has had a chance to shoot, the first student will go back to the cone they ended at on their first turn and shoot from there.
