Sentence Frames: To support one-to-one correspondence and mathematical language, have students use sentence frames to describe the connection to partners. For example: “There are ___ dogs, so there are ___ counters. There is ___ counter for each ___.” Summarize by saying: “Both the dogs and the counters show 7.” Students listen and repeat. Print Teaching Tool 48. Have students write a number on the top and then in the space below show all the ways you can make that number or all the things you see at home or at school that represent the number.
