Overview As students work together on this shared project, it allows them to convey their ideas visually and textually. Instructional Purpose It promotes critical thinking as students analyze and synthesize information through collaboration and teamwork. This helps enhance communication skills and stimulates creativity and expression, accommodating different learning styles and varying abilities. Materials/Set-Up Come up with a prompt, quote, question, or image to introduce or review a text or concept.

Post a shared writing space with the prompts in different areas of the room. Provide markers and/or sticky notes or digital tools for student contributions.

Instructional Steps Post a shared writing space (paper or virtual) with a variety of prompts (quote, question, image, etc.) Model the activity with one of the prompts and have a student volunteer to share a silent reaction. Have students silently move from poster to poster adding their ideas and responses. Student contributions can be written and/or illustrated.

Use words or simple drawings to respond. May copy ideas or contribute with a partner. May need to use home language.

Share short responses or ideas using visuals, word banks, or sentence starters. May need help from a peer.

Explain ideas clearly and respond to others using academic language. Justify why the idea is novel.
