Focus Principles of Art
PATTERN - Integrate patterns into a variety of artworks and media. BALANCE - Incorporate asymmetrical balance into a work of art. CONTRAST - Use contrasting artistic elements in a piece to convey a message.
UNITY - Create a unified piece of art using repeated elements of art such as line, color, or shape. MOVEMENT - Use artistic elements of line, shape, or color to guide the eye and create movement in a work of art.
Focus Elements of Art
COLOR - Mix colors. Identify and intentionally use warm, cool, neutral, complementary & analogous colors. VALUE - Add value to form. Create shadows. LINE - Apply the use of lines to demonstrate understanding of the principles of art. SHAPE - Identify and intentionally use geometric/organic & 2D/3D shapes. FORM - Identify and create three-dimensional objects that include length, width, and height.
TEXTURE - Experiment with texture. Use lines to create visual texture. SPACE - Use positive/negative space and symmetry/asymmetry.
