WELCOME & ACTIVATE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE Greet students warmly at the library door. Remind students of opening procedures that will prepare students for learning. Practice entering the library appropriately. Repeat as necessary.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION & PRACTICE Step 1: Review library procedures Review: ● How to enter and leave the library ● Attention-getters ● How to ask to use the bathroom and get water ● Whole Body Listening ● Noise levels ● School & Library rules & consequences ● Expectations for circulation time and what to do after finding a book ● How to move from tables to rugs/rugs to tables
