End of Unit Competency

By the end of Topic 12 students will be able to explain how to place a decimal or a number line and compare decimals.

Language Functions & Features Describe data and/or steps to solve problems using: ● Mathematical terms ( decimal, decimal point, tenth, hundredth, fractions, place value ) ● Visuals ( money, number line, hundreds grid, chart) to support approach, solution and/or extract information. ● Observations ( notice, it appears, looks like, the line plot shows ) and comparative language ( greater than, less than, equal to ) to share results ( eg. 5/10 is equivalent to 0.5 because… ) ● Declarative statements to state conclusion (eg. The value of letter A is… )
