CTESS Summative Overall Rating

The Summative Overall Rating (SOR) consists of three weighted elements: • Instructional Quality Rating (IQR) 70% • Student Growth Rating (SGR) 20% • Stakeholder Input Rating (SIR) 10%

Each element receives a numerical score based on the rating:

Emerging Effective (Provisional Only) Minimally Effective (Career Only)

The Summative Overall Rating is calculated and determined using the following formula and rubric:

Summative Overall Rating (SOR) numeric score = SUM ((IQR*0.7) + (SGR*0.2) + (SIR*0.1))

If the teacher does not agree with any portion of the Summative Overall Rating (SOR), the educator has the right to submit a written response expressing his/her views. This written response must be submitted to the evaluator and to the Director of Human Resources within fifteen (15) calendar days and will be retained in the t eacher’s personnel file. A teacher may also request a review of the evaluation findings. The teacher has fifteen (15) calendar days following receipt of the Summative Overall Rating (SOR) to submit the Review Request of CTESS SOR form to the Director of Human Resources. Any written response(s) to the IQR, SIR, SGR, or SOR must be submitted within the specified time frame. The review will be in accordance with State Board of Education rules and District policy 400.31.
