TESTING Teachers are required to follow the district assessment schedule as listed in the curriculum map and on the school calendar. Every assessment should be administered following the district policy for ethical testing behavior. TRANSFERRING STUDENTS Whenever you receive definite information that one of your students is about to transfer out of our school, please notify the office. A withdrawal form will be placed in your box. Please complete all information as indicated on the form and return to the office with other necessary items attached. VISITORS Visitors are to report to the office and obtain an identification badge before going to classes. Please help us enforce the district policy that all visitors wear visitor badges. Due to legal liabilities, non-registered students will not be allowed to visit classrooms. This includes middle-schoolers and high-schooler, even older siblings. If visitors show up at your classroom without a badge, send them back to the office. Notify the office immediately. Personal visits from family members and friends should be very limited. Family members and friends may volunteer in classrooms. They are required to pass the same background check as all other volunteers. It is not appropriate to bring your own children to school to spend any extended time in your classroom during contract hours. VOLUNTEERS Teachers are expected to be open to the use of volunteers in our school . Always inform them of schedule changes and holidays. Have work or instructions ready for them when they arrive. Each staff member has the responsibility to make our volunteers feel welcome and appreciated. Please thank them frequently. Each teacher is responsible for seeing that his or her volunteers sign in. Every staff member has the responsibility to question unknown and unidentified persons in the building and to notify the office. It is the teacher’s responsibility to train volunteers in the use of equipment. Volunteers are not to run the copy machines without proper training. The laminator is off limits to volunteers . According to federal law under the Fair Labor Standards Act, hourly employees of a non-profit are not allowed to volunteer at school unless their actions are significantly different from their job duties. Paperwork is available from the district that the employee may fill out to receive approval to volunteer. * All volunteers, including fieldtrip chaperones and anyone with student contact must fill out an online questionnaire and be screened annually as per state law and district policy*
