They must identify the role of each element and explain how it contributes to the theme, main idea, settings, or plot. ● Objective: To assess students' ability to analyze the structural role of text elements and their contribution to thematic or main idea development. Paragraph Analysis: ● Activity: Students write a short answer response analyzing how a particular paragraph or section of an informational text contributes to the development of the main idea. They must use evidence from the text to support their analysis and explain the significance of the paragraph or section within the overall structure. ● Objective: To assess students' ability to connect specific text elements to the development of the main idea and to articulate their understanding in written form.
