Differentiation in Action
Listening and Speaking: Provide multiple opportunities for students to use listening and speaking skills when asking and answering survey questions. Also, allow time for students to engage in exploratory and explanatory talk. Emphasize text features (titles, headings, symbols, and keys) when making inferences and determining important information. 3-ActMath : After students engage with the 3-Act Task, have the class brainstorm a question or problem at the school that they want to gather data on and propose to another class, a principal, librarian, etc. Have students go through the steps of gathering, representing, analyzing, interpreting and sharing the data to solve a problem or promote change at the school.
