Read aloud the text and omit words while students follow along silently and chime in chorally with the missing words.

Read a poem, a short text, or a chunk of a longer text out loud together with students. Students read the text three times: once silently to choose words to omit, once aloud to their partner, and once following along and chiming in with the words their partner leaves out.
