Overview This curriculum map provides guidance for planning instruction using the Utah Core Standards and the System 44 curriculum. System 44 is a foundational reading program designed to support older struggling readers on their path to literacy. It provides students with personalized progression through the Instructructional Software and explicit instruction in comprehension and writing. These program components help students master the foundational reading skills require for success with the Utah Core Standards. Blended Learning Model System 44 follows a comprehensive, blended learning model. The blended learning model combines adaptive technology that targets individual needs in foundational reading skills with teacher guided state-of-the-art, face-to-face classroom learning. Blended learning balances the role of teachers and technology so that each can effectively do what they do best. Flexible Rotation System 44 features a flexible rotation model designed to help teachers address students at all levels of intervention. This model organizes class time to provide a balance of teacher-led instruction, scaffolded practice, and small-group interaction. It is designed to maximize instruction time and accelerate achievement. System 44 supports educators as they guide students to become confident, capable readers. Program Details System 44 comes in 2 levels, Upper Elementary and Secondary. Each level has 8 Modules and a Resources for Differentiated Instruction (RDI) manual comprising of phonics and word study lessons, research-based practices, and instructional routines.
