Data Analysis As students participate in Read 180, data is collected about their use and performance in class. Teachers collect ane access this data through reports generated in their Data Dashboard on HMH Teacher Central. These reports enable teachers to monitor progress and plan daily instruction. Data can be used to diagnose student needs, track progress, determine instructional pacing, differentiate instruction, and communicate progress to administrators and families. Data reports can also be used during individual student conferencing to help students set goals and develop accountability for their reading progress. Student Conferencing Student-Teacher Conferences are a one-on-one forum that allows both the student and teacher to discuss progress, celebrations, barriers to learning, problem solving, and goal setting. Sharing progress data with students fosters student ownership, reinforces a growth mindset, and increases student self efficacy and motivation. It also builds positive relationships between the teacher and student. In a Read 180 classroom, teachers schedule regular one-on-one conferences with students. Teacher use assessments results and student data reports to update students on their progress, set goals, and celebrate achievement.
