5th Grade Keyboarding Assessment

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) requires that the elementary keyboarding assessment be administered in the spring of 5th grade. The keyboarding assessment will measure speed, accuracy, and technique. Use the Typing Club online program to determine speed and accuracy. A one-minute timed writing in Typing Club should be used. Students should be tested on a passage they have not previously practiced. While students are testing, evaluate and record each student's keyboarding technique using the Keyboarding Technique Checklist.

5th Grade Keyboarding Assessment Information ● The window for the

keyboarding assessment is March 21-April 1

● Results are entered into Data Dashboard. Data entry is due by April 11. ● Data will be submitted to the state by the district.
