Have students read p. 69 in Utah: Our Home. Next, have them read Smokejumpers and Camp with Care and discuss and generate a concepts map about what makes Utah a prime fre zone while identifying the characteristics of Utah’s climate and geography that contribute to fre danger, using the two texts for evidence. Also, have them consider the solutions for fre prevention and safety. Have students use information from the four texts in this week’s readings to explain how archaeology informs about the past and writing a summary with evidence from the text set.
