Elementary PE Brainbooster
● Have them stop a few feet from their cone and pass the ball to the next student in line. ● Continue this rotation until all students get at least one turn. ● Challenge students to switch hands their next turn. Review what a dribble and pass is. ● Students should spread their fingers out, use their fingertips to contact the ball and push the ball hard into the ground. Because they’re moving forward, remind them to push the ball in front of them to “chase” it. ● When passing, students should use a chest pass, passing the ball from their chest, targeting their partner's chest. If the relay feels like a race, students may disregard technique and lose control. Instead, have each team continue rotating through without an “end” to the relay.

Show How How to Play:
● Divide the class into groups of 5-7 students, giving them each 3 balls and one square (4 square court, basketball key, cone square). ● Three players will begin inside the square, each with a ball, while everyone else will line up. ● On your “Go Word”, the three students will begin dribbling continuously, trying to knock the other student’s ball out of the game. ● If a student loses control and their ball goes out of bounds, they’ll retrieve the ball and hand it to the next student. The other two players will continue dribbling. ● If students hold onto the ball with two hands, they’ll leave the game and go into line. Choose 3 students to help model dribbling, knocking balls out of bounds, and how to rotate into the game. Review “Arm Bar” ● The non-dribbling hand will be held up, parallel with the floor, protecting your ball from others trying to reach in. Students can also use their body as shields, turning their back on the other players to protect their ball.
