They will look at the chart and line up the color with the number that was rolled. Based on that, each group will do that exercise. ● Once the groups finish up their exercise, call out another color and the next student will roll the die, doing the exercise as a small group again. ● Repeat this process until everyone has had a chance to roll the die at least one time. Review the exercises on the chart ● Model what they look like and have students practice a few reps ● Make sure to include all of the colors (food groups) Modification: ● Call out “Dance party!” and have the students dance for a quick break between exercises. Color Tag
Show How How to Play:
● In this game, there will be 2-3 taggers while everyone else is free to move around inside the large boundary. ● On your “Go Word”, taggers will attempt to tag as many students while they move safely around inside the tag area. ● When a student gets tagged, the tagger will call out a color, telling the tagged student where to go. ● The tagged student will go to that color of cone and do jumping jacks, calling out each letter that spells the color. For example, at the “Blue” cone, a student will do four jumping jacks, saying “B-L-U-E” with each jump. ● Taggers will try to send as many students to each of the colors until it’s time to switch. ● Freeze the game to give other students a chance to be taggers.
