○ Arms ● No matter the locomotor skill (running, galloping, leaping, etc.), review how students can move safely.

Debrief

Return to Home Base and ask the following: ● How do our bodies feel after moving around? ● Where could we play this game during recess?

Prepare students for the next activity.

Clean Your Room!

Show How How to Play:

● Have students spread out within the designated playing area, half on each side with a row of chairs/benches down the middle acting like a barrier. The goal is to have the “cleanest room”, with no balls or objects left on their side of the court. ● Evenly distribute the balls, balloons, etc. on both sides, reminding students not to touch them until you begin. ● On your “Go Word”, students will pick up the objects and throw them over the row of chairs to the other side of the court, aiming at the empty spaces. ● Have students attempt to catch the balls, moving into open spaces, so they can throw it back over to the other side. ● After a few minutes, freeze the game and quickly reset the amount of objects on each side. Review how to throw underhand or overhand. ● Make sure students try to throw to the empty space on the court where noone is. ● If using balloons, have them practice hitting with open hands. Review how to be safe during this game ● Students should be prepared to catch a ball that is thrown from the other side. ● Remind them to stay in their spaces instead of running around trying to catch things to keep their teammates safe.

Practice andPlay

You can use a volleyball net instead of chairs lined up.
