Review safe tagging ● Taggers must always use “butterfly fingers”, which are soft, fluttering fingers that only tag on U.S.A. ○ Upper back ○ Shoulders ○ Arms ● While students are encouraged to continuously run, make sure they understand how to safely move around others and help each other out by freezing them. ● Have students change up their movement by pausing the game and announcing new ways to move. ○ Skipping (step-hop) ○ Leaping (bounding off of one foot) ○ Galloping (one foot staying in front of the other)
Debrief
Return to Home Base and ask the following: ● How did it feel helping others? ● What made this game fun for you?
Prepare your students for the next activity.

Show How How to Play:
● Have students spread out within the playing area. ● The goal is to see how many “volleys” they can get (as individuals or as agroup). ● Encourage them to use their hands, open palms above their head, and to hit it up towards the ceiling. ● Keep track and see if they can break the “school record” for their grade. Review how to stay safe in this game ● If each student has a balloon, tell them to keep spread out from others. If their balloon travels too far, remind them to keep an eye out for others. ● If they are working as a group, make sure they ○ Call for the balloon, saying “I got it!”

○ Stay in their own area so everyone gets a chance ○ They can only hit the balloon one time in a row
For skilled players ● Encourage them to try “passing”, using their forearms to contact the ball while their hands are folded together.
