Introduction

Begin class with a warm up procedure: ● Prepare students with daily expectations before entering the gym OR on Home Base. ● Warm up procedure may include several laps around the gym, stretching routine, or another quick, movement based activity. ● Back at Home Base, review rules/expectations of the school and

PE/Playworks with explicit examples when appropriate. ● Review any other specific reminders needed for the day.

Before releasing students for the first game, use a Sequence Touch to get them to the location you need them to be for the first activity.

Partner Passing

Show How How to Play:

● Have students spread out across the gym, shoulder to shoulder, one half on one side of the court, the other half facing them. ● In partners, students will stand at least five feet between them. Student A will begin with the ball while student B will wait for the pass. ● Student A will pass the ball to student B, who will catch it. They will pass back to student A. ● If both students are able to control their passes, they can each take one stepback. ● If one of them passes out of control, they must both take a step back in. Review the different passes in basketball. ● Chest Pass: Holding the ball at chest level, students will pass the ball, shooting their hands straight in front of them, to get the ball to their
