Canvas was selected as the LMS for Canyons because of its ability to increase collaboration among students, teachers, and parents, along with its extensive use in Utah institutes of higher learning Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) is a standard that links content and resources to learning platforms. Its primary purpose is to connect learning systems such as a learning management system (LMS) with external service tools in a standard way across learning systems Math Inventory (formerly Scholastic Math Inventory) is a research-based, adaptive assessment that measures math abilities and longitudinal progress for Kindergarten through Secondary III Math. Canyons uses MI in secondary grades. Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a practice of providing high quality instruction, using data to make decisions about instruction, interventions for students that is based upon the students’ performance, and providing multiple levels of support for both academic and behavior standards Phonological Awareness is the understanding of different ways that oral language can be divided into smaller components and manipulated.” (Chard and Dickson, 1999) Phonemic Awareness refers to the smallest unit of sounds that blend to make words. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based system that helps defne the key components of a well-managed classroom Providing Educators Access to Knowledge and Support (PEAKS) is Canyons’ induction program for new teachers using teacher leaders to serve as mentor and and coach to new teachers in their frst three years of teaching Playworks is a recess-based program that is designed to ensure that students feel included, are active, and have opportunities to build valuable social and emotional skills Progress Monitoring (PM) is a procedure that involves frequent measurement of student performance for the purpose of evaluating a student’s growth toward a targeted objective. For example, the trajectory of reading growth can be measured by weekly administration of R-CBM A Quantile score represents a student’s math ability level as measured by the Math Inventory (MI) Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) is a method teachers use to find out how students are progressing in basic academic areas such as math, reading, writing, and spelling. Acadience is the CBM measurement tool used in both reading and math for Elementary. The Realize platform is the digital component of enVison 2.0 that contains interactives, lesson planning, ancillary materials, and data.
