Next - Have students perform SQ3R on Meiosis I & II (pg 233 teaches edition) Next have students in groups of 8. Have them take off their shoes. There shoes will represent the chromosomes. Have them go through the steps of Meiosis I & II. Have students demonstrate the Cause & Effect of topics : Crossing Over, Law of Independent Assortment, Genetic Variation. Have students look at Figure 20 on pg 239. Hand out a noteguide of a karyotype and go through with them the different aspects of the organized picture of chromosomes.
Next have the revisit their prior knowledge of down syndrome. Show Nondisjunction Video Karyotype Lab
Revisit CER to provide evidence.
Tie in their responses to the original phenomena and have the students build off this.
