● Engage the student in more student-teacher conversation in Chinese aside from regularly planned activities or group the student with other advanced learners who are ready for more challenging dialog. ● Ask students to name places in China they would like to visit, and explain reasons. ● Role play: a new student coming to school needs help with fi guring out the class schedule, the other student could answer questions. ● Write a short introductory note telling your name, your age, year in school, how many people are in your family and who they are, where they are from and what languages they speak ● Ask students to draw a map of school and explain how to get from one place to another to attend classes. ● Ask students to make a poster to encourage others to join the after school program. ● Ask students to fi ll in a form requiring basic personal information (eg. fi ll in an immigration card)
