Teachers should actively engage ALL students in learning. Teachers will provide a pace of instruction to allow frequent student responses. Teachers will call on a wide variety of students to respond throughout the lesson. Teachers will present information at various levels of diffculty. Teachers will frequently use gathered data to identify needs and create small groups to target specifc needs. Teachers make appropriately paced intentional corrections and feedback constantly based on listening and observations. Teachers will give students the opportunity to use the feedback to continue their learning process. Teachers will provide students with activities that necessitate higher cognitive demands. These activities will force students to draw conclusions based on their fndings. Teachers will provide students with tasks that require students to demonstrate reasoning, planning, and developing connections within and beyond the content area. Example: Project that is centered around research, develop some fndings, develop a hypothesis, prove/disprove theories, present conclusions, and be able to defend their positions.
