Key Standard(s) Strand 1: Students will follow safety practices. Standard 1 : Identify potential safety hazards and follow general laboratory safety practices. ● Assess workplace conditions regarding safety and health. ● Identify potential safety issues and align them with relevant safety. ● Locate and understand the use of shop safety equipment. Standard 2 : Use safe work practices. ● Use personal protective equipment according to manufacturing rules and regulations. ● Follow correct procedures when using any hand or power tools. ● Reference http://schools.utah.gov/cte/tech/publicationsresources under the Safety Program and Management tab. Standard 3 : Complete a basic safety test without errors (100%) before using tools or shop equipment. End of Unit Competency 1.1: ● Students can identify potential safety hazards. ● Students can explain general laboratory safety practices. 1.2: ● Students can use and inform others about safe work practices. ● Students can explain how to maintain a clean and orderly workspace. 1.3: ● Students will be able to inform others how to pass the Safety Test with 100%.
