Fall Intervention

Kinder

KEEP entry and Acadience FSF. If below or well-below benchmark, teach using the scope and sequence of the following items: ● First intervention: Kindergarten Peer Assisted Learning Strategies (KPALS) or ○ 95 Phonics Core Program (PCP) current Lesson- Reteach/Pre Teach ● Second intervention: Early Reading Intervention Kit (ERI Kit)

1st

NWF-CLS

● Check for benchmark on PSF, ○ If below and well benchmark, give the diagnostic, Phonological Awareness Screener for Intervention (PASI), Long Form A Skill 4 (PASI) ○ If a student cannot pass skill 4.1, test for skill 3 as needed. ● Teach 95% Phonological Awareness Kit and identify lessons from skills 4 and 5 based on diagnostic. ● If below and well below benchmark, give Phonics Screener for Intervention (PSI). Begin with Form A. ONLY TEST Skill 1, letter names and sounds ○ If letter names and sounds are mastered at 90% (PSI), teach blending with 95% Teaching Blending Book ○ If letter names and sounds are NOT mastered at 90%, teach letter names, sounds using Peer Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS) or KPALS NWF-WWR ● If below and well benchmark, give the diagnostic, Phonological Awareness Screener for Intervention (PASI), Long Form A Skill 4 and5 (PASI) ● If below and well below benchmark, give Phonics Screener for Intervention (PSI). Begin with the Short Form A. test skills 2-5 (Basic Kit) only ○ Teach lessons identified by PSI. ORF Accuracy/Fluency ● If below or well-below benchmark, give the PSI part 1 and 2 for 3rd grade students. For 4th and 5th grade students begin with skill 10 on short form A, if necessary back up from skill 10. ● Teach using the 95% Phonics Lesson Library ○ If students are in 4th or 5th grade where possible use the attached alignment to provide more coherence to 4th and 5th grade core. ○ If students fall into Group 2 of the Acadience Instructional Grouping Suggestions, use the identified Group 2 Lesson Plan.
