● Is the student able to correctly name the written number? ○ Which ones do they name correctly? ○ Which ones do they name incorrectly? ○ Which ones do they not attempt? ○ On which ones are they inconsistent and how are they inconsistent? For example, if they name the number four correctly and then also name the number nine as four, then they may not solidly know the number four. If they use a combination of letter names and number names, then that is an additional type of confusion to address. ● If you name the number, can the student point to it? ● Can the student correctly identify numbers that have already been taught in class?
