The Cheetah and the Lazy Hunter

A long time ago, in a warm savanna, there lived a cheetah. He was the fastest animal in Africa. With his long legs, he could outrun any creature. Every day, he ran through the tall grass, feeling proud. In the same savanna, there was a hunter. He was strong but very lazy. He didn’t like to work hard, so he sat in his hut all day, waiting for animals to come to him. He thought, “One day, I will catch the fastest animal!” One day, the lazy hunter had an idea. “I will catch the cheetah!” he said. “I will trick him.” The hunter set up a trap with a big net and hid behind a tree, waiting for the cheetah. The cheetah was running through the savanna. He saw something strange on the ground. He saw the net but didn’t know it was a trap. The cheetah stopped and looked carefully. He felt something wasn’t right. Instead of running straight ahead, he took a different path. The cheetah ran around the net and safely avoided the trap. The lazy hunter was surprised. “How did he do that?” he wondered. He tried again the next day with another trap, but the cheetah noticed it and ran around it. After many failed attempts, the hunter was tired. He realized he was not as clever as the cheetah. “I may be strong, but I am not as quick and clever,” he said. The cheetah smiled. He had learned to always be careful and smart. He knew that being clever was just as important as running fast. The cheetah continued to run freely, while the lazy hunter went home, knowing he could never catch the cheetah.
