Autobiograph y - a story about someone's own life, written by that person themselves Metaphor - a way of describing something by saying it is something else, instead of using "like" or "as Concrete poems - poetry whose visual appearance matches the subject of the poem

WELCOME & ACTIVATE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE Greet students warmly at the library door. Follow opening procedures to prepare students for learning. Instruct students to play the memory game “I’m Going On A Trip”. Player 1 starts “I’m going on a trip and I’m bringing an [item that begins with the letter A]. Player 2 repeated “I’m going on a trip and I’m bringing an [A item] and a [item that begins with the letter B]. Players go around the circle remembering everyone’s answers and adding items to the list in alphabetical order. When you can’t remember anymore you are out.
