Borrow - to take with the promise to return or replace
WELCOME & ACTIVATE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE Greet students warmly at the library door. Before entering the library, review entering and seating procedures.
Practice with the class entering the library. Repeat 2-3 times as needed.
Settle students in seats either at tables or on a rug. Congratulate them on their behavior and following directions. Explain again any reward system for behavior in your school library. Practice the attention-getters you will be using this school year.
Say: What makes a person good at sharing?
Acknowledge responses. Say: Library books are for everyone. Today we will learn how to take care of our library books to be good at sharing.
