Review library rules, expectations, and consequences. Ask students “Why is this rule important?” and use Think-Pair-Share to engage students in discussion. Remind students of expectations for read alouds. Step 2: Read aloud Read first selected read aloud using best practices. Students should demonstrate whole body listening and library etiquette.
Review any procedures such as attention-getters, how to move from one space to another, asking to use the bathroom or get a drink, etc.

Step 3: Read aloud
Read second selected read aloud using best practices.
Review circulation procedures, expectations, and consequences. Review book care expectations. Review technology expectations.
Review “I can” statements and ask students for thumbs up or thumbs down if they think they mastered today’s learning. Dismiss for circulation READER’S ADVISORY, CIRCULATION PROCEDURES & DISMISSAL
