1 – Using the Internet in the Classroom

What should Ahmed do? Why? What could happen if Ahmed decides to try to use YouTube without permission and help? Why does asking for permission keep Ahmed safe? Ahmed asks his teacher if he could use his Chromebook to practice math online. She says yes and helps him get started in one of their school programs. After a little while he remembers a really funny YouTube video he wants to watch while his teacher is helping other students. He thinks he can get to the YouTube channel all by himself.

2 – Using the Internet on Tablets at Home

Camila is home afterschool with her older brother. He is busy doing homework and she wants to play Roblox. Roblox is so much fun! Camila knows the password to get on her family tablet and she thinks she knows how to use the app. Her dad gets home from work in 15 minutes. What should Camila do? Why? Pretend you are Camila. What would you say to your dad when he gets home? What good things happen if Camila asks permission?

3 – Using the Internet on Smart Phones

Eliza notices her mom left her phone on the couch while she went to make dinner. Eliza and her mom love to video call her grandma together on her phone. Eliza thinks it would be so nice to talk to her grandma while Mom makes dinner. What should Eliza do? Why? Pretend you are Eliza. What would you say to your mom to ask for permission to use her phone and go online? Why is asking for permission to go online the best choice?
