WELCOME & ACTIVATE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE Greet students warmly at the library door. Follow opening procedures to prepare students for learning. Activate background knowledge of their experience using the internet by playing an active game. Instruct students to do a silly action if they have experienced the prompt. Give students 15-20 seconds between each prompt to respond. For example: Let’s play a game! ● Wiggle your nose for 10 seconds if you have ever used the internet to watch a show on Disney+, Netflix, Prime, YouTube or another streaming service. ● Flap like a chicken 5 times if you have ever used the internet to play a game like Roblox or Fortnite. ● Clap your hands 3 times if you have ever used the internet in your classroom to practice reading or math.
