At breakfast, Phil and his family read the weather report. Heavy snow and cold winds were expected. As his mom cut the bread, she moaned that it would be cold enough to see her breath. Phil’s Dad spread jam on his toast and muttered that his sweater had a loose thread. Phil’s sister, Heather, leapt from the bench.
