Appropriate Use of AI for Educators ELEMENTARY
General Guidelines for Appropriate Use of AI for Educators
AI has the potential to enhance personalized learning, support teacher workload, and improve assessment quality. It is critically important to select AI tools that have been approved through CSD’s LearnPlatform. For specific guidelines, refer to VIEW of AI in Canyons, visit www.canyonsdistrict.org/ai .
Developmental Considerations with AI
AI should support student thinking and learning, not replace it. Younger students require direct teacher supervision and guidance when using AI tools. Expectations for AI use should be clearly communicated for each learning task. Teachers should model that AI can make mistakes and information should be verified. Student privacy and personal information should never be entered into AI tools. All AI tools should be district-approved.
