As you prepare to conduct a Learning Walkthrough, it is important to consider each step. 1. Establish a focus of inquiry and provide a rationale for conducting Learning Walkthroughs. Communicate the rationale with ALL staff. 2.Prepare for Learning Walkthroughs by determining which observation protocol will be utilized and orient those who will conduct walkthroughs on the observation tool. Create a walkthrough schedule. 3.Conduct the Learning Walkthroughs, visiting each classroom. 4.Gather and analyze walkthrough data as a BLT team. 5.Determine follow up steps as needed based on the data gathered (i.e., school-wide PD, coaching supports, lesson study, public practice). 6.Plan for ongoing walkthroughs to monitor progress.

Some examples of Learning Walkthroughs may include the Student Shadow Walkthrough, Classroom Behavior Essentials Walkthrough, Canyons Observation Feedback Form (COFF), etc.
