Lesson 2.1: Transformers: Shifty y’s - Develop Understanding ○ LI: I am developing my understanding about transformations of the graph f(x) = x 2 so that I can use technology and tables to connect representations. ○ SC: I can compare and contrast a table of value of a parent graph to its transformation and then graph it and write the equation. ● Lesson 2.2: Transformers: More than Meets the y’s - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of parent graphs and their transformations so that I can develop an understanding of vertex form. ○ SC: I can graph quadratic functions in vertex form using the “quick-graph” method. ● Lesson 2.3: Building the Perfect Square - Develop Understanding ○ LI: I am developing my understanding of the relationships between b and c in the relationship x 2 + bx + c so that I can recognize a perfect square trinomial. ○ SC: I can find the values of b or c in a perfect square trinomial and then write the square of the binomial. ● Lesson 2.4: Square Deal - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of completing the square so that I can complete the square whena ≠ 1. ○ SC: I can use diagrams and models to find the missing values for completing the square. ● Lesson 2.5: Be There or Be Square - Practice Understanding ○ LI: I am practicing my understanding of completing the square so that I can connect the process with the vertex form of a quadratic equation. ○ SC: I can change quadratic equations to vertex form by completing the square. ● Lesson 2.6: Factor Fixin’ - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of factoring so that I can use diagrams to multiply binomials and factor trinomials. ○ SC: I can factor trinomials, in the form x 2 + bx + c, into two binomials. ● Lesson 2.7: The X-Factor - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of factor ing so that I can use area models to factor trinomials. ○ SC: I can find the equivalent expression of a quadratic that shows the lengths of the sides of the rectangle. ● Lesson 2.8: The Wow Factor - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of factoring so that I can factor trinomials when a ≠ 1. ○ SC: I can write two equivalent expressions for the area represented by each type of model. ● Lesson 2.9: Lining Up Quadratics - Solidify Understanding ○ LI: I am solidifying my understanding of factoring so that I can use the factored form to identify key features. ○ SC: I can use the factored form of a quadratic to graph the function and then identify the vertex, intercepts, and vertical stretch. ● Lesson 2.10: I’ve Got a Fill-in - Practice Understanding ○ LI: I am practicing my understanding of factoring so that I can build fluency in completing the square, factoring, and multiplying binomials. ○ SC: I can use the different forms of a quadratic equation to fill in the missing representations and provide other information.
