NWEA MAP Reading Screener Frequently Asked Questions and Resources MAP Growth 1. How long should I plan for MAP Growth testing in comparison to the Reading Inventory? According to our Middle School and High School ELA Pilot teachers, MAP Growth is a longer test than Reading Inventory. The MAP Proctor Guide states that students take 40 to 60 minutes on average.
