Success Criteria: ● I can determine the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words using a variety of strategies. ● I can use context clues to understand the meaning of a word or phrase. ● I can use Greek or Latin affixes and roots to determine the meaning of a word. ● I can use reference materials to find the pronunciation, meaning, or part of speech of a word.
Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases, choosing flexibly from a range of strategies. (RL & RI) a. Consistently use context as a clue to the meaning of a word or phrase. b. Consistently use Greek or Latin a ffi xes and roots as clues to the meaning of a word. c.
