Listen to use Tools Appropriately: Give students a copy of the number line (Teaching Tool 13). Model solving a problem using the number line as students listen and move on their individual number line following the teacher's instructions. 14-3 STEM Activity: It’s a Butte! Students can also leave off the equation and move from picture to picture writing their own equations with an unknown to solve.
